Oort Cloud Escape — Ice & Cosmic-Ray Dodge Game
Oort Cloud Escape is a fast, one-life arcade dodge game set at the very edge of the Solar System. You pilot a small probe as it leaves the Oort Cloud — the vast, roughly spherical shell of icy bodies that surrounds the Sun out to perhaps 100,000 astronomical units — and heads into interstellar space.
Two hazards stand in the way. First, a steady hail of icy planetesimals — the frozen leftovers of planet formation that make up the Oort Cloud and become comets when they fall toward the Sun — tumbles down the screen and must be dodged. Second, the ship's instruments repeatedly detect cosmic rays: high-energy charged particles racing through space. A warning line shows where a cosmic-ray beam is about to fire, giving you a moment to clear the path before it flashes across the screen.
How to play
Move your probe with the arrow keys or WASD on a keyboard, or by dragging on a touchscreen. Weave between the falling ice and step off any glowing warning line before the cosmic ray strikes. A single collision ends the run — the goal is simply to survive as long as possible. The game gradually speeds up, throwing more ice and more frequent cosmic rays at you the longer you last.
