Where did Sophie Adenot's aurora view take place? This locator places a representative ISS orbit about 400 km above Earth beside the 120–400 km altitude range where green oxygen aurora commonly shines. Because the station moves continually, no fixed sky coordinates are used.
The orbit line and Earth use the scene's distance scale. The 51.6° orbit is schematic in orientation and phase; the ISS marker and southern auroral oval are enlarged locators, and the animation is not a reconstruction of the filmed pass.
